Elevate. Educate. Empower.

Imagine the Angels of Bread is a photography exhibit by Leo Herrera that celebrates and explores gay Latino life. In a time when overt racism and homophobia is not only tolerated, but encouraged, this exhibit is a form of resistance against stereotypes and caricatures, demanding that Latino gay men be seen as fully human. The exhibit is composed of 8 individual pieces that explore themes central to the gay Latino experience: HIV, Love, Environmental Racism, Immigration, Labor, Religion and Gay Spaces. Imagine the Angels of Bread is about insisting on the importance and brilliance of gay Latino men and refusing anything less than the recognition of their full humanity and human rights.

Imagine the Angels of Bread opens at the Museum of Photographic Arts in San Diego on October 26th and runs through November 2nd
